Which impellor - simple question, simple answer?

New to this but without going into why the ski is in bits all over the garage.

I have to replace the impellor (plus other parts) on the good ski that I bought recently. It is a XA1200Y or XLT1200 LTD 2000 model. I'm a total novice at this but need to know which to buy. It had a Solas Concord YF CD 13/19 (I don't know what all that means) but it is stuffed.

My needs are simple. Don't care about top speed but want it to jump out of the water the best it can.

    Which impellor do I buy?

Personally, I'd put the same one back in there...its a good "overall" impeller for that boat without any mods. I just sold that same one in like new condition for $100US.

welcome to the forum. What other parts are you needing to replace?
I would also look at the condition of th wear ring as well. the wear ring is what the impeller in encased it when the pump is in place. If you need assistance removing the pump or impeller, here are some how to's below

Knowing what other mods if any are done to the ski will help in proper size selection. The 13/19 alone would a little big for that ski. The impeller can be repaired and re-pitched.

Follow up on this note... a 12/18 (depitched 13/19) seems to be the impeller of choice for this boat.

Check Carl at LI racing or speedfreaks, tell them what you have, and they will fix you up with exactly what you need.

    Thanks

WOW - really appreciate the assistance here guys. I've been away for our Australia Day holiday weekend here downunder but will now check out those links you sent. To answer a couple of your questions - I don't think the skis has been modified a lot except for the plate and intake. The intake is scooped compared to the original and the plate is flatter rather than V shaped. I intend to leave the intake and replace the plate with the original - I was given both as spares.
My main reason for having it all in parts over the garage is that I need to replace the coupler and drive shaft (splines are stripped) and thought I might as well put the best impellor on 'for getting out of the water' that I can while I am at it.

I think from what I can gather that the housing for the impellor looks OK and with little excessive clearance.

So any other hints in this direction will be appreciated.

    Learning here

    OK I'm starting to learn.
So in simple terms what are the numbers say, 13/19. What do they mean and what does depitched mean. If I want acceleration from standstill but don't care about top speed what do I pick. It is a 2000 XA1200Y/XLT1200LTD.

The 13/19 is the pitch of the impeller leading edge vs trailing edge. 12/18 is the pitch you want for the XLT with no mods.

    Island Racing

I have an Island Racing 13/19 that Carl re-pitched to 11-18.5 on my ski. It is a great all around impeller. I also recommend his Holeshot kit on your ski.
