CUTTING OPEN WATERBOX on 96 GTX

Anyone have pics showing where the best place to cut open water box to repair baffle that has come loose? The round tube baffle has come loose in front end of waterbox so I was hoping someone had some experience with this procedure.

The last one I cut open was by using the band saw and cutting the weld on the end cap. this exposed the core for mods..
i then re-welded and it looks bone stock. ( ulta 150 box )

Thanks for the tips ! I will probably cut it apart to see why it came apart . If not too difficult to repair I will probably weld it up.
Water worx ,We were in Ft pierce Florida Friday driving across the bridge to hutchison island and walking out on the Jetty by the Inlet. Had I known your shop was in Ft Pierce We would have stopped in! My folks live in Sebastian Florida .

there are dimples where the baffles are welded. you can cut on either side of those so you dont hit the baffle

it will be an annoying noise specially mid range, keep that in mind, I was close to doing so but after talking to some ppl and thinking about it I decided not to. Plus there is no known speed of performance gains.
IMO I wouldnt do it specially for a recreation ski.

The only reason I am opening up the thing is to replace and weld the baffle tube back in place. But thanks for the warning!
