Ocean Pro head- yea or nea?
I have a 1995 sl750 with the usual upgrades,
Oil pump removed; runs on 40:1 pre-mix
Triple outlet fuel pump upgrade
Aftermarket intake grate and rideplate
Toxic reeds and reed cage spacers
Ocean Pro Vortex flame arrestors and covers
TDR waterbox (it's not real loud, sounds good)
UMI handlebars, Renthal grips and finger throttle
I also have a Ocean Pro aftermarket head included (not installed)
I have read mixed reveiws about the Ocean Pro Head,
I have installed custom sponsons and a splash guard which makes a world of a difference,
Some one said that putting on the Ocean Pro head would be the death of the ski??
any pros or cons?

Someone would be wrong.
Some guys don't like the ridges from the swirl pattern. They think it may lead to hot spots and possible detonation.
I've been using one for a couple years. And never has the OP head lead to a problem. Now me on the other hand, is THE problem!!!!
If you run it, you need to check the squish clearance (45-50 thou is recommended) and make sure to watch/adjust the piston wash. You'll also need to run 92 octane fuel only.
If you want, you can sell that head on here or Ebay and get something else, like a new impeller.
Or put the $$ towards a long jet pump.
Or if you want high compression heads and are afraid of the OP, I have a set of 92 octane 750 heads done by Watcon for sale.

I like the Ocean Pro head. Looks nice, and from what I hear, performs as well as it looks!!!

I ran an Ocean Pro head on my 1100 ZXI and there were no issues at all. It also had the swirl combustion chambers.

Many thanks and well noted, I am the 3rd owner of the ski and there are Scat Track stickers all over it, but I cant tell if it has an impeller upgrade,
I might hold onto it for my first re-build,

How did your Ocean Pro head end up performing, I just got 1 for my 780, but can't find the copper gaskets I'm going to try OEM's. Any issues with cylinders being level etc.
