    GP1200R 66v cylinders

Hi everyone, Im new here, heard many good things about greenhulk. Just bought an 03 GP1200R before xmas and motor blows up on me last week,
The middle cylinder stopped getting oil and the rod lower bearing gave up and ingested it all. crank looks pretty nackered and piston finished, the cylinder has some big scores/gouges in it. Im mainly wondering what to do about the cylinder as I've heard they are nikasil plated and apparently once damaged might as well throw it away? should i get it bored and sleeved or can they be hard chrome plated? I've got access to hard chrome plating, but i dont know if anyone does nikasil plating here in new zealand.
My cylinders have #10 stamped on top of them, If anyone has a spare in good nic and doesn't mind sending to nz let me know how much. Dont really wanna pay 1k for a brand new OEM one lol.
Sorry for all the questons. Any help/suggestions etc would be greatly appreciated, thanks everyone.

ok never heard of a 2003 gpr 1200, the suv or xlt in 2003 would be a 1200 try for cylinder repair here http://www.mt-llc.com/Ordering/pricing.html it is in the US though.

What color is the motor? 1200 would be black... 1300 silver... Grafix on a 03 are orange and blue. Are you positive #2 lost oil? Ive seen quite a few throw a big end bearing on #2 for no reason what so ever... Renic from Millenium is about $200 and extra for welding.. With a crank as long as the other cylinders are good should cost you around a G to put it back together or you can buy a used jug and crank.. Do you have any pictures of the ski, motor, or damage?

    Wink

simple to find what motor you have what is the piston bore size 80mm or 84mm Also all 1300's were efi that I know of too. What size bore is it? Is it carb or EFI also?

the motor is black, graphics are white and blue. Im pretty sure its 80mm, ski is at workshop awaiting insurance assessor, (not definate if will be covered yet) so cant double check till next week. Yeah im pretty sure it didn't get oil, whole cylinder crankcase and head were dry, other two have oily residue as per norm.

In the USA the last two numbers an the vin number on the back of the hull are the year sounds like a 02 year to me.

i have an 2003 model GPR thats carbed too, it must be an australisia thing...but its 02 spec as it is mnot EFI....i was a bit confused myself when i looked into it .

make sure you go premix when you rebuild it, it wont fail like it just did if you do that as it removes the reliance on the oil pump
