    Impellor pitch for 250x

    Hi all

I brought a 250x with 6 hours on the clock and the person who owned it before me fitted some mods..... Solas ss impellor, R&D intake grate and ride plate.

Top end on the ski i get 70mph on speedo with 7780rpm but out the hole at WOT I get cavitation and engine hits the limitter 2-3 seconds.

I think the Solas for 250x is pre set at 21-14??

What is the best pitch? hoping to reduce my cavitation without giving top end away.

    Help please.....

Think I just need to get it out and and let a pro repitch it. Also at top end it feels like theirs a brake, as though the engine unloads and when it reloads you get some drag, if that makes sence??? Almost like the engine is just hitting the limiter???
Unlike my other ski's I've had in the past where you get to top end and you feel as though you've squeezed every last bit of HP out of it.

When does the limiter kick in??

    High RPM's

    you have got high RPM's.

I cant get 7600 on mine with the stock impeller.

Anyone knows the RPM range for the stock '08 stock 250 ?

most of us are running stock tight clearance props and are having no issues with cavitation at around the 7900-8100rpm range

Haha thought it may have been you matt bomb
I have heard jetshed are best for prop /pump work over here
listen, i have a spare stocker it has been worn a little but is still within the service limit ( didn't cavitate on mine ) you can give it a try if you want .(pm me on other site )
like others said you are nowhere near the limiter , it could be the intake grate and solas combo givin it that feel , i would try a stock prop out see if that makes a difference .

Cheers for the offer of the stock impellor borrow, think I will let jetjunkie at repitch and test on his lake and if it still feels wrong then I might take you up on the offer of borrowing your stock to see if that cures it.

Intresting thought on the top loader, water being forced into the pump more bogging it alittle top end

    What grate have you got??

yeah the grate should be be fine on stock prop you will just lose 2-3mph
    off top end speed ,
the solas is more of a topspeed prop so as it cavitates off the mark anyway stuffing more water with grate isn't going to help on the flat

    What grate have you got??
I have stock grate i smoothed all the imperfections out and cut the little centre bits out . i really need to change to scoopgrate for racing though especially with the R&D plate on , i'll swapsy if you want + a stock prop your way
