I have heard many people on the board are using the Riva toploader with good results

I've never used anything but the Riva grate but i would say that it does improve hook up in the chop.

I've been running the RD grate on my RXP for two years now. It does very good in rough water/ocean riding. I have not tried the Riva grate, but I've heard that the R&D is better for rough as oposed to the RIVA

The RIVA grate is better than the stock in chop and that's about it as far as performance in chop in my opinion. It's good up until mild chop. Rough stuff I would have to assume the R&D because that's what I've heard, and for really rough stuff I hear the WORX is the best.
But Im not sure what ocean riding is like so...... My experience is on a good sized lake (10,000sq. acres).
