requirements for getting parts into canada

I recently purchased a used s/c via greenhulk, and friends of mine will be bringing it back to Canada in the spring(road transport).
Is there any special requirements known, other then a invoice, bill of sale that is required?

Nope, as its used and originally made in Canada there will be no issue at the border.
Invoice is all that's needed and as they declare it at the border, it up to the discression of the person in the booth to send them in to pay the PST and GST taxes on it.
If its under $200 then the will probably just wave them through, if not, then go inside and just pay the sales taxes.

    That's it
I do it all the time with parts for my ski's, just declare and go.

sent your Bill of Sale for the SC as requested to your GF's parents via US Mail.
Let me know if you have any problems, should be fine.

In general, the Canadian border folks don't care about whether an item is dutiable. You pay the PST + GST on the Canadian equivalent of the declared value, and that is about it.

UNLESS they suspect you may be misleading them about something. In which case after you have paid, they escort you back to the car, and have a thorough look-see. If you have been straight with them and they don't find anything interesting, there is no further problem.

The border guys have the authority to detain you, and completely dis-assembly your vehicle, and impound anything they find. Play it straight.

Make sure your paperwork is complete, and includes a decent description of the item, and the price/value.

If the item has significant apparent value (like thousands of dollars) and your declared value seems out of line (too low), they can insist on taxing it at a higher value. You can defend against that by having the Bill of Sale notarized ahead of time, with the seller's info and signature and your own.
