How can I find the shade of white gel coat used on my 1995 SL 700. I called several polaris dealerships with no luck.

    SL 700 wasn't made until 96.

    colors for that ski was:

Bright white (P133) Polaris part #8520113

Lazer Blue (P217) Polaris part #8520231

******Notes on the bottom of the page******

Bright White is Ditzler #91473 or PPG 2185

    Gel Coat Repair Kits

    white - 2871287

Order Polaris "P" number from Midwest Industrial Coatings (612) 934-8252. Mix as directed.

I know theres a million of them but still ,white is white.

All the white your talking about has Color or Black added to it. it's not really white.

Bright White is just that-- All White!

Gelcoat is basically sold as white and you add your own tint to it. Never seen 80 types of white gelcoat sitting in marine store for sale.lol They would go out of biz.lol

I use to spray boats with off white, beige,off-white, grey white Gelcoat. Never bought a type of white other than white. You mix it to match.

Those ditzler numbers are for paint arent they? Thats not correct for gelcoat.

Here, xlint summed it up right here:::

    Gel Coat Repair Kits

    white - 2871287 <<<<see only white repair kits.(not special 96 700sl white gelcoat.)

Order Polaris "P" number from Midwest Industrial Coatings

This is michigan fiberglass's WHITE they sell. I dont see any other whites but WHITE.

    --Formulated for Use with Pigments
MF-GC12b Clear Gel Coat - Low VOC

Maybe in paint there is 80 different kinds, but your asking about gelcoat.

Theres only 1 white for gelcoat. thats White. Enuff said.

That must of been a special deal on the teal. A Custom color for tons of teal skis. I guess thats the exception to the rule. I'm sure there are others too. I don't mean to sound nasty about it. Theres exceptions to everything. I just meant to say, that it usually comes only in white.

I know Searay and other boat dealers do sell some colored gels for thier fleet already mixed.. Usually its hidden in the back. They dont really sell it. it's more of a in-house kinda thing.

And speaking of that, lol the gel never matches anyways. its a different lot from the paint on the boat!. its close but not bulleye. The Boat gel fades and oxidizes over the years and the gel gets thinner and the color changes because of the thiness and the deterioration.

White is the best to use. easy to blend and easy to get. No tinting required.. Thats a whole another story,, Tinting,,,,

Note on tinting, Use 1 drop of color at a time! Know your color wheel! And mix the whole thing, not just a 1 oz portion. That way youll either have 1 gallon of the wrong color or it will match! !20.00/gallon. you better be right.
