I like 6x30mm stainless steel allen head bolts. The extra length is necessary when shimming the tabs and the allen head allows me to leave most of the "bolt hole plug" in when I remove the bolts.

I believe the pitch is 1.0 Please specify that it is metric (6M) for those who are metricly challenged.

    G'day guys,

6.0mm by 1.0mm Pitch is a Metric Course thread. As against a 6.0mm Metric Fine thread at 6.0mm by 0.75mm Pitch.

Both Course and Fine metric share a 60 degree thread angle. As does NPT (American National Pipe Taper) UNF (Unified National Fine) and UNC (Unified National Course).

Most fasteners on the Yams are Metric Course AFAIK.

There is only one Metric Fine thread that has a 1mm pitch and that is 8.0mm (Metric Fine) but two share it in Metric Course 6.0mm and 7.0mm.

A metric thread pitch gauge is invaluable ... well ... to the home machinist in me anyway !! (smile)

    Regards
    Anthony
