What speed should i be seeing?
Hi guys, just wondering what speeds i should be seeing with my mods on my 04 rxp:
Rotax ecu at 8400rpm
Engine-Tech supercharger wheel with spacer
Single fuel regulator
4 blade prop
10" k&n intake
shorty waterbox mod
pro opas block-offs
2 degree wedge
reverse bucket mod
I believe my ski was tuned with the supercharger slipping, toward the start of the winter i got the clutch rebuilt, the ski obviously ran a lot better, however people from on shore would tell me at WOT the ski sounded as it was backfiring, before i put the ski away for the winter, i gps'd it at a disappointing 77mph.
Any info would be appreciated.

was it backfiring or cutting out as it was hitting the rev limiter...
et wheel and spacer not familiar with boost numbers on those ...lets say it is comparable to a x charger ...8400 rpm ??? would be about 11 psi... rpm sounds low thought rotax were 8600 as well???
so IMO you should be about 77 78 is about right ... really need more info...

Depending on what Scer,Injectors and prop your running you should be in the low 80 mph range with that ski...Like Anthony said you may be all over the rev limiter and that is the popping noise they heard on the shore..What RPMs were you turning??

low 80s on a stock rxp charger w a drop in and spacer sounds high to me even w ecu ..i should only be 10 11 psi

8400 RPM ECU brotha..That along with his other mods should put him over 80 IF he tunes it correctly.. The Riva Stage 3 Scer can get a properly tuned ski up and over 80 no problem..

that only 200 over stock riva ecu is 8600
he my get 80 i only got 81 on 13 psi..on the x charger turning 8560
dont know i guess it really depends on how good that et is...
just dont want him to think he is going to go 83 on a stock charger...that is rude 2 and 3 territory

Ya i guess i should revise the Mid 80 range...I got excited posting.. IF he dials it all in he should see 80-81 ..

Hey thanks guys, yes i as well though it was bouncing off the rev limiter, i have looked at the gauges and have never seen it hit 8600, now is possible that it actually is hitting the rev limiter but not showing on the gauge because it is only for a split second? i know the stock gauges are a little slow.
Now when the ski was tuned it was tuned for 8200rpm, and since i rebuilt the sc clutch i have been seeing 2350-2400 on a brisk morning. Now i was told i should not be running at 8600rpm until i upgrade my valves. I believe i have 50lb injectors, also would my afr be off because of the supercharger slipping when being tuned?

i thought you had your valves done..no matter how you ride it everytime you come unhooked it peggs the rev limiter..so if you are running over stock rpm you need to get them done asap or it is just a matter of time before you drop a valve..
