I'd be interested in working out a deal for my SHO in exchange for a 1.8l HO. Looks like you live to far away though.

So far I've seen only 2 people work on installing a turbo on the SHO engine. One is Bruce from Riva, which is documented in his conversion thread. I believe Rush is working on a turbo setup as well.
I'm sure an aftermarket ECU would be a necessity, but I'm curious to know if there are differences in the HO/SHO engines besides the supercharger. Anyone know if the NA motor in the HO runs higher compression?

The compression ratio is not suited for turbo on the ho model (11.0:1) but I would think that you could add a small amount of boost and get a good gain 5-6 lbs. i'm not sure how to calculate the final compression ratio after boost?

From what i have heard about the two engines is they are completely different as the 1.8HO is very highly tuned and has very little more that you can do with it. The 1.8SHO is very under tuned and has alot of extra performance parts that can be added to improve the performance

SHO compression ratio 8.6:1
HO compression ratio 11.0:1
