    ECM reflashing Price?

I was just thinking coming over from the 2- stoke side of the forum the $500 For a stand alone Advent ecm was a deal compaired to reflash ecm $750, ViPec $2800, MoTec $3200. The cost of going fast on these 4- strokes sure has people spendig a lot of dollars now. I am not complaining just thinking back in the past since I have been playing with Pwc's for over 25 years. A ViPec ecm cost is more than a 1987 Waverunner 500 ( first year of a Yamaha PWC). I guess all that means is I am just getting old, Tommy Jordan , (one of the senior members on the forum)

You are right Tommy, who wants to spend $15K to go 85mph?
Jet Draft will break through this year for the people not wanting to spend a arm and a leg.

Throttle by wire ignition system for a supercharged 4-stroke is much more complicated than an ignition for an old 2 stroke. Alot more R&D and software cost to break, tune, and program these ECU's. It's a love - hate thing

$2500 in 1987 is equal to $4700 in today's dollars. In 1987 I was still learning how to use the potty

Yep that was my first pwc ride! They would only run 30-32 mph. After working on mine I was flying 38 mph!
