My combo ride plate and intake was RIVA. The issue was keeping the hull settled in rough water, and they did the job nicely. The plate made the hull longer and it made the boat smooth out quick.

But then again, I did not have 143hp. Your results may vary.....

Great in chop. By that I mean 6" to couple-3 feet. On glass I can feel the grate slow me down.

The plate I love. Keeps the ass end planted.

I have one Blaster with stock grate and an OP plate. It is the plate with the 4 small concave grooves in it. Stock grate is better for speed. The OP grate, I think it is only a slight bit better than stock. The stock Blaster "lean" is gone with it. The porpoising also is better.

Best days of CC sports class racing this is what Riva’s top world-class racers used. Especially for hookup and turning in mod class power plus about 2.7 mph faster as they found along with it carves through rough water.

    WB 1 Shred master combo

That's on raçe hull's? Shred master combo works better on a Waveblaster I (93-96)stock or raçe hull? Would like to try it. Anyone have one for sale?

Pro-tec plate is not a bad plate...and depending on what you ride..the WORX 201 is the hot ticket for rough water I hear from all the Sport/Spec classes and even full blow nasty skis..

    My 2 cents:

Not that I am a seasoned Sport racer, Ive only done it for one season. I used a worxs 201 set up as Mike described for long straights and huge back stretchs and endurance racing it was the combo to use. Very low drag and the ski would run all day in open water. Only problems were white wash and very heavy chop. Works offers a longer plate for the blaster (The Dominator I think) may help for porpussing. I switched to a Watercross of Texas sj1 Double loader scoop grate and that helped my ruff water riding alot. I have purchased a shredmaster as advised by Tim Judge Scottie Macc and Mike Peav. My next combo will be a protec set up then last a Jet dynamics. My teammates swear by a riva intake grate which is still available new at www.Rivaracing.com and a riva groovy ride plate.

Mike have you tried a R&D blaster plate with a limited Sj aquavein grate?

Hope my input helps you out we are still learning over here....

I've not used the 201 personally because the one I bought was messed up and I sent it back. I'm running Riva double bar intake grate with the pro-tec plate right now. It's decent...although when the water get's choppy...it's good..when we get more then chop...it's a lot of un-hook. I've got to say the 201 is rumored to be horrible on glass in terms of speed loss.
