    Oil Leak 05 3D

I noticed oil leaking from beneath the oil pump so i changed the oil line coming from the oil tank because it appeared thats where it was coming from but when removing the okieter clamp the nipple which the line goes onto slipped out approx a quarter of an inch. Not sure how this nipple is attatched, i can easily pull it out as easy as putting it back in. After inspecting the hose which I removed I dont believe the hose was the problem, it appears to be coming from under this little nipple. Any advice anyone??

When you fill the tank to where the oil makes contact with the center part of the tank (lower area), oil bleeds out of the vent tube on top. Just don't fill it as high and you won't have any spill problems.

the tank is not where it is leaking. it appears to be leaking from where this nipple is on the oil pump. I guess im gonna have to remove the oil pump. just curious about this loose fitting nipple where the oil line goes onto.

the fitting is just pressed in. The hose shrinks as it ages. Is it a RFI or DI. The RFI has 2 other hoses that can leak at the connections. The ones with otiker clamps should be refit with worm clamps. The oil tank can leak at the seam if it has one. lift the tank and if there is oil trapped under it on top of the fuel tank its leaking or like 96XPSS said it could be over filled.

Its an 05 believe its a RFI. Since its pressed in, it really seems loose as I can easily pull it out and push it back in so not sure what to do from here......

Like they said it is a press fit.

Oil pumps aren't that expensive, I'd just buy another than waste my time repairing that one.
