    impeller upgrade for a 95 slt 750

I have the original impeller in my 95 750 slt. Im looking to upgrade for this year. I usually ride with 3 people on it. Or we tube. From what I hear a 12/18 would be a good one to go with, I just want to make sure I get the right one. Should I get a skat-trak or a solas? Also where would you reccommend me getting it from? Thanks in advance.

For 3 people I'd definately do the Skat Trak swirl impeller.

    Here's the application chart.

    http://www.skat-trak.com/watercraft.html

They suggest a 12/17 swirl for an all stock engine and also for a modified SLT 750 (couple bolt ons)

They also suggest a 13/18 in the modified ski as more of a top speed selection, but for tubing and such, stay with the lesser 12/17.

Wherever you can get the best deal. Most places are all about the same price. Around $200 for a new one.

eBay is where they often show up, typically $20 or less.

Solas makes/sells a short version (works just fine)

Apparently, Overtons also sells it, for $10

Obviously these guys have helped answer the "where".

As for the "how", yes it's fairly easy.

Remove the stator from the pump by removing the 4 long bolts, not the nuts attaching the pump to the hull.

Obviously you need to remove the trim and steering prior to pump removal.

Then you remove the cone from the stator and place the stub shaft "flats" into a vice. Install the impeller removal tool into the impeller and use a long 1/2 breaker bar to remove the impeller. It'll be tight, since it's torqued to 100 ft lbs.

Install the new impeller and torque it to 100 ft lbs. and reinstall the cone.

Reinstall the stator. Reassemble the steering and trim linkages.

    Done deal!!!!

TIP: I find it easier to install the driveshaft and O ring seal into the impeller first. Then install the stator and drive shaft as one unit into the engine coupler.
