    Question RE: Waterbox mod thread

From what I can tell in this thread:
    http://greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=14329

Modding the stock waterbox in an 07 setup does not really shorten the box, right?

What then is a "shorty waterbox"? not a modded stock one, I am guessing, but something else entirely, correct?

Your best option is to drill a single 5" hole in the waterbox baffle, and make the outlet tube FLUSH. Keeping it full length provides better flow.

When you shorten a box, you put in several different flow variables that can make/break the box design. Do it wrong, and youhave hot spots. Do it wrong, it traps water and reduces internal volme.

All the info you need can be found on this thread under Exhaust...

When you say cut the outlet pipe flush...do you mean like picture #4 in this post?
    http://greenhulk.net/forums/showpost...84&postcount=1

Or do you mean to try and cut the tube so there is no pipe intrusion into the box at all?

If I don't have a 5" circle bit but I have a 2" and 3" on hand...should I spring for the 5" or use smaller holes like what is pictured?

    Thanks for your help Danny.

Here is a link to how I modified an 08" box...

You can see the outlet got trimmed and flushed, and I used a 2" hole saw to cut multiple holes. You can then use the hole saw to link the holes for one big hole...just trim the edges so there are no sharp edges.
