04 RXP Upgrades
I am busy with my 04 RXP, but I want to add a Rude 3 or ET 68 140. I have a RR ECU and external intercooler, 15/20 Solas, 81mm ring, thru-hull exhaust, 4'' intake, 42 injectors and a lot of hull fairing and ride plate upgrades.
My two questions are what size injectors must I use without a RRFPR for the Rude3/ET SC without any valve train upgrades. I know the exhaust valves are sh... but I do not want to break one off at high revs.
I will pitch my impeller to keep me at 8500 rpm, the valve train upgrade will have to wait for finances!
Secondly, will this be enough to get to 80mph?

you have many things wrong in your set up...
you need to spend some time reading..all the information you need is here..do searches ..and read
valve train must be done to run any 8500 rpm ecu...either a riva kit or les cook retainers
you will drop a valve
injectors must match the ecu ..riva 50 ...rotax race ecu is 60 i think..not sure about that one
at this level of modification monitoring you AF ration is a must.
not near enough prop start with a 15 22 and add from there...
probably will end up with a 82 ring
to run a rude 3 or the big et you willl need even more fuel so a rrfpr is a must..maybe not enough depending on injectors..go with bosh or seamens..they handle the pressure...and can flow more ..when needed
w the big charger you will neeed to upgrade the oil jet..as well to 08 spec
and yes it is enough to do 85+ if everything is right
you can go 80 on a stock x charger at 8500 ..
you really need to do some searches and read before you make it go boom

Thanks for your inputs, yes I see the problem with the valve train. Is it only the revs thats the problem, because of valves bouncing and the pistons slapping the valves?

What must be done to the valve train, only retainers or new valves as well?

Being you have an 04, i would do the valves and retainers..

Dont forget to replace your fly wheel bolts, on that 04, especially at those rpm.
Do you know if your ski has the piggy back knock sensor ???

That is the reason I bought a RR ECU, my rpm was locked at 7600rpm even after I added the piggy back and updated the ECU. Have not installed the RR as yet but hope it will help to get over 8000!
As I can see its valves, retainers, bolts, oil jet and 50 or 60lbs injectors? We have 95/98 octane fuel all over and 102.6 if needed, so knocking is not that much of a concern.
