I would say look for a better brand..i heard john deere or toro's are the best u can buy..we had bought a new poulon chainsaw(wild thing) and had it taken care of(maintained/serviced). and the thing was absolute junk, i like to call them throw away saws, recently turned over to sthil..

edit: the craftsman brand chainsaws are made by pulon

Depending on the model, the Poulan can be made by the same company as the Craftsman.

Mowers, snowblowers, etc are my "second" job.

If you are not an animal on you equipment, just go and buy an 8hp or bigger MTD. I have one that is over 10 years old, work it to death, and never replaced anything short of skids each year.

A 8hp 26" can be found for $700 or less with electric start.

Anyone need any help with this stuff, let me know. The shop I work at is in Princeton.

I have had my Wild Thing for over 10 years. All I have done is 1 sparkplug and a few chains. I abuse the hell out of it. Reids is the same one. We have even used them for cutting barrels that get away from docks around the lake. Of courseyou need to get a new chain after cutting plastic barrels full of water.
