1100 Yamaha Mysterious Misfiring??
I have a Yamaha Exciter jetboat with Twin 1100's. I have put a brand new engine in it. It ran fine for about 2 hours, then started mis firing. It almost sounds like a rev limiter. Like its firing every other rotation. The engine idles smooth, as soon as you give it a little throttle it starts spitting and sputtering. I removed the carb cover and when i try and rev it up small flames come from the carbs. I let the boat sit for a few days, tried it again and it was fine for about 2 minutes. I could rev it up no prob. then started doing it again.
I KNOW its not a carb/Fuel issue- They were rebuilt and it ran fine for a while after that.
Compression is still good on on cyls. Engine only has 2-2.5 hrs on it.
Any ideas on what to check? And what would cause this to happen randomly? Thanks in Advance!

Solved: Engine Temp sensor had a break in the wire touching ground....shorting itself out throwing it into Limp mode!
