There are a couple people that have done the belt conversion but its very costly and you have to have quite abit modified to get it to work, crank, prop shaft ect ect.

You cannot run a solid shaft it will snap.

The clutch setup is good with the right washers and spring washers. Run riva washers with the McMaster Carrs and all will be good. So long as you get the slip set right then re-check after initial break in you will be fine

There are benifits to the belt setup obviosly no clutch and you can change the ratio for more boost and run more efficient rotrex charger but it will cost a fookin lot of dollar. R88

Yes I can see your thinking, The trouble with what you wnt to do is the speed at which the stock gearing spins the shaft, The SC spins at over 40000 at 8100 that is far to fast,

This is the reason the power for the belt drives comes from the end of the crank and is then geared to what ever is the target RPM for the SC is.

The problem with taking the power from the stock location is you will have to slow it down using a larger pully as no belt is going to take 40 odd thousand RPM then you are going to have to use a smaller pully on the charger to speed it back up which in total adds up to a shit load of parasistic power loss so any gains that you could have had will be off set by a loss in the drive system. you can alter the drive ratio with diffrent pully sizes to get your desired rpms at the charger. i know some votech chragers can run up to 60,000 rpms.

Oh, and the belts pop/break/come off if it isn't set up perfectly, and sometimes when it is.

Welcome back to the crappy clutch game...
