    2000 GP1200R selling advice?

My brother bought my GP1200R a few years back but rarely has time to ride, so he wants to sell it. Its a very mild rec setup, has grate, plate, milled stock head (Riva done), all updated power valves, keepers, couplers, 14/20 Solas, etc. Runs 68 - 69 GPS, very reliable, clean, about 175 hours, Amsoil used with stock oil injection on a nice Shorelander trailer.

Not sure how much it is worth first off, second, would I get more out of it by parting it out for people who want to do conversions? How much for a great running motor (will do compression check to verify, etc), and a complete ski minus motor?

This is not a for sale thread, just trying to be complete and get some honest input on price and best way to sell it for my brother.

Vern, IMO try and sell it as a whole. should be able to get $2,800-$3,000 for it.. Seems that parts are not going for much and it is a pain to keep trying to list stuff and basically give it away..

I agree, sell as a running ski. Some parts sell well (good cylinders, cases, after market handling, etc) yet you always end up with a pile of stuff nobody wants, and you never get close to what you would as a whole.

Ok, thanks Nate and Bill. No question it is a helluva lot easier to sell it whole. I was hoping Steve could get $3500 for it, but after poking around a bit, $3,000 might be it ... oh well, reality is what it is.

How about where to list it? Local photo for sale rags? Craigslist? Ebay? (Here too of course)
