    WTB MSX 140 cases

    Looking for engine cases 03 MSX 140

    any one know the difference between the std 1200 cases, and the MSX, which are shown as "HO"?

    i have std 1200 cases here, if you can make those work.

    I know the MSX cases have provision for an extra oil feed into the front crank bearing area.

    There may also be a difference in the front crank bearing retainer, although I am not sure on this point.

    I think the 1165cc crank cases (perhaps only from from 2002-2004) have an extra cir-clip on the MAG end of the crank. Item 13 (PN 7710441) in the second diagram (2002 Genesis).

    First diagram is 2003 MSX 140 crank shaft.

    now thats a deal! I would buy those! The MSX cases are different in a fews ways. The cylinder studs are different(longer on the intake side) and they are machined for a bearing with a snap ring inside the case(1200 cases just have snap ring on the outside of the mag end) also as mentioned have an additional oiler on the front cylinder and the main bearing feeds are machined to allow more oil to pool into the main bearings.

    I would just get the MSX cases and be done with it.

    Is that snap ring bearing just not shown in the online MSX crank diagram?

    it is shown they for some reason on that diagram do not have a number next to it.It is the inner bearing on the mag side(3rd bearing in from the mag end) you can see it in the picture.

    Question Confused on crank snap ring

    I' sure when I take the crank out of the cases I'll see what's going on.

    I see the snap ring on the genesis but not the MSX diagram.

    All I see from the MSX 140 diagram is the part ref #'s as:

    8-drive coupler
    7-nut
    9-washer
    10- oil seal
    11-bushing
    12- 2 bearings not three.

    Please elaborate....
