    pro 785 MFD

My oil injection tank has been removed from my Pro 785 limited I just bought,
When I fired it up the MFD flashed OIL like it is low on oil,
Is there something I can do to correct it?
My 95 750 I bought last year had the tank removed, but the MFD never reads out of oil,

    Standing by,

If the float is still wired to the box you can zip tie the float in the up position. Or you can wire a 33 ohm resister in the electrical box.

Install a 33 ohm resistor between the Blue wire Oil sender terminal and the Black ground terminal inside the electrical box.

Disconnect and set aside the Blue wire that runs (or did run) from the terminal board to the oil tank sender.

    33 ohms = Full tank

    Resistor can be any wattage.
1/2 watt or even 1/4 watt 33 ohm resistor should be fine.

Slide the resistor through some heat shrink tubing to protect it from shorting and crimp spade connectors onto each end.

Rain has stopped finally and it is time to put the 33 OHM resister on,
I have a exploded view of the electrical box, but it doesent tell me where the oil send terminal is? shoud it be colored blue? Or was it supposed to have a blue wire going to it?
I just go from there to the black ground?

Arrow Connect 33 ohm resistor inside electrical box to by-pass oil level sender for pre-mix

There should be a terminal inside the electrical box with the code BLU marked beside it. There should also be a blue wire coming from the MFD display, connected to that BLU terminal.

The attached photo is not from a Pro 785 electrical box, but you can see the two blue wires, and the BLU terminal marking (partially obscured by the fused Red/Purple wire for the MFD). I expect the Pro 785 terminal board is similar.

You connect the 33 ohm resistor between the BLU terminal, and the BLK terminal. Be sure to properly crimp the resistor connectors and insulate it so it cannot vibrate loose or move and short against anything else.

The Blue wire from the oil tank should be unplugged and taped aside. The Blue wire to the MFD display should remain connected to the BLU terminal.

I take it that the black terminal is under the black circle?
which blue do I take off the light blue or the dark blue? or does it matter?
or neither and just tie into one?
    thanks,

    thanks,
The Black terminals are marked BLK, and there will be a bunch of black wires already connected there.

Follow the Blue wires to see which is which, or use an ohm-meter to find the one that goes to the oil sender.

It matters which blue wire you disconnect. One goes to the oil sender.

The other goes to the MFD. It is the MFD display we are trying to fool, so that wire must remain connected.

Interestingly enough, my boat is premixed and there are no blue wires connected or resistors and my MFD does not give me any flashing red lights.

Then again, my MFD isn't for a Pro 785...not sure which boat it is for, but my oil gauge reads with no bars.
