    Venus 20' XTRM w/Dual Rotax turbo

    Im not sure if this project belongs here... You decide!
    But here we go...

    I might aswell start a project thread now... Even if the boat isn't supposed to be finish before spring 2011.

    I'm converting a Venus 20' XRTM from outboard to jet-drive.
    I'll be using the well known and much loved Rotax 1500cc engine.
    There will be two of these badboy engines in the back... producing 6-700hp together.
    The two engines will be connected to a single jet-pump from American Turbine. I'll probably use the Dominator 12-S pump.

    Have you connected with any of the jet boat enthusiast groups?

    The Jet Sprint guys know a lot about high power in light weight hulls

    I think there are a few current and former jet boat and jet sprint guys around GH...

    With belt-drive... To get the weight as far back as possible I have to mount the engines backwards. Then they will rotate the wrong way... which will be fixed with small transmission. The transmission might be good to have if I have to change the ratio.

    Does anybody know how much tourqe the 4-tech engine at 15psi boost are producing? Any guess?

    The guy who's delivering the jet-pump needs to know what tourqe the engines puts out to be able to find an impeller that suits.
    Anyone know the tourqe? Someone must have dynoed their engine with a little more then OEM boost...

    If you know the peak RPM, and the approximate HP at that RPM, then you can calculate the torque.

    What impeller pitch are you turning in the Sea-Doo jet pump?
    Someone who knows their impellers might be able to tell you what HP and torque are needed to turn a given RPM with a given impeller pitch.
