If I had to guess its to spray warm water from the engine to keep your hands warm.

    .

i saw the tubes my self and was thinking it may be worm water for his hands... i was more interested in why the ski looked like it was on the battery charger... could he be running a total loss ignition in that thing??

Yeh the water and air temps over here are in the mid 30s so its damn cold.

We run water off the exhaust up to the bars to keep the fingers moving lol numb hands are no joke.

He was running a Les re-map this weekend but no total loss, Our stock class rules are different from rules in the states we cant have any engine mods so about the only thing we can do is swap out ECUs for different classes when using the same boat. James was racing in an open class this weekend so anything goes.

If I had to guess he was prob just topping up the battery as it was basicly a brand new ski and with the cold weather the batterys do suffer a little. The only other possibility is that he had removed the stater and charging assembly to lower rotating mass but I strongly doubt that is the case as it is outside the rules and if he had done that I dont feel he would have be so blatent about charging the battery.
