    Riva ride plate finish

    Just recieved my riva ride plate,looks great but I've been hearing about the finish peeling off after a few hours of use. anyone have any ideas on stripping it and respraying it with something else or any other tricks you guy's might know of, or should I just say just say screw it and put it on...thanks Damon...

    i wouldnt worry about it to much ..you will scratch it when you sand it from filling in the edges and holes i just threw some paint at it when i was done..check it every now and then ..

    Thumbs down Riva ride plate finish

    I bought a new plate and also heard about the cheap finish getting corroded, So I had mine beat blasted or sand blasted then had it POWDER COATED. this will definitely last a lot longer than the riva paint finish. I'm not sure what the hell they sprayed it with,,,, but,,, what ever its comes right off with brake cleaner.

    thanks for the info, thats probably the route i'm going to go.....i'm going to drill and tap a spot on the riva and use the anode off of my stock plate

    Its a poor finish on the plate guys not corrosion.

    Did you have any problems doing the drilling and tapping with the plate mounted. Looks damn good.
