Thread: impeller questions
02-18-2010, 10:26 PM #1
aright now that i have figured out how to remove the impeller from the drive shaft i have some questions. first is there a place that resurfaces our impellers or can i do it myself with a dremel? second if my knowledge on water flow and propulsion is correct even small nicks will disrupt the "swirl" thus robbing you of power. so how deep of a blade nick is to deep, when do you start to notice the loss of power? Is it worth the time/effort/money to smooth out small nicks?

You can send it to Impros to get it redone but if i remember right that prop i sent wasn't bad at all . I would run it and then go from there
Post some pics of the 2 props

oh its not bad at all. i have no prob running it. but i have the stock one that is in perfect shape. the one you sent me is a 12/17 skat trak (which is of course better). im just more or less curious as to when to know to have your impeller resurfaced (besides the obvious blade crack/break/bend). and would you benefit from running a dremel across the blades every time you had the impeller out?
