Thread: water siphon???

    water siphon???

    ok so this water siphon system seems pretty retarded i think im gonna get rid of it. i figure with a bilge pump i shouldn't need it correct? anyone see any reason why i shouldn't glass over the hole and call it a day??

    Well, is cheap/free, and it works all the time while you are riding.

    If you position the intake screens properly, it will suck out more water, and keep the residual water level lower than a bilge pump will.

    The siphon system works even if the bilge fuse blows, or the bilge pump fails.

    Other than replacing the hoses every decade, and checking the intake screens visually, what's not to like?

    It doesn't weigh anything. Change the dirty looking yellow hoses on it and your good to go. good insurance if the bilge fails.

    ok here is the real issue i dont have the fitting that goes through the hull and i cant find a part number for it? thats why i was thinking of disabling it. if someone could get me a part number or suitable substitute that would be great also where does it connect to on the pump???

    are there any parts you dont have?????? yeah its the tube wear the siphon hose connects goes through the hull. how much do you want for it? also the big o-ring for where the pump connects to the hull i need that too ( should i just go to babbits for that one)

    Jeff i don't think i have a new seal but i have a bunch of good used ones .
    The part you need screws into the wear ring correct

    yes it does thread into the wear ring. but its the smaller hole. where exactly does that tube connect too when it comes out of the wear ring? used o ring would be fine i snapped mine on removal.

    it just lays in the bottom of the hull
