    Sea doo pRoblem...............

    I HAVE A 1997 SEADOO GTX..................IS THE Rectifier HAS TO DOO WITH THE VOLTAGE...............

    If it's bad then it won't charge your battery, or will run wide open, and cook/fry your batt.

    I PUT NEW STATOR AND IS NOT CHARGING THE BATTERY..........I GUESS IS THE Rectifier THATS BAD.............

    NOTE: ALL VOLTAGES and OHM READINGS ARE APPROXIMATE,YOUR READINGS MAY VARY


    >>> WITH THE 6-PIN WIRE HARNESS P/N 295 000 136 CONNECTED
    BETWEEN THE MAG COVER PLUG CONNECTOR SIDE and MAGNETO WIRING HARNESS CABLE:



    TESTING INDUCTIVE IGNITION TRIGGER SENSOR OUTPUT:

    >>> SET VOLTAGE RANGE ON METER TO LOW RANGE 10~20 VAC
    and “HOLD BUTTON” for HIGHEST VOLTAGE OUTPUT ATTAINED

    BLACK/YELLOW STRIPED WIRE=è WHITE WIRE= .37VAC TRIGGER SIGNAL WHEN ENGINE IS TURNED OVER

    >>> SET OHM METER TO LOW OHM RANGE

    BLACK/YELLOW STRIPED WIRE=è WHITE WIRE=256 OHMS










    TESTING MAGNETO FOR CONTINUITY OF COILS and GROUNDS



    >>> DIS-CONNECT THE UNIT MAGNETO WIRE HARNESS FROM WIRE
    HARNESS TOOL---KEEP THE WIRE HARNESS TOOL CONNECTED TO THE MAGNETO COVER PLUG-IN

    >>> USING AND OHM METER IN 20 OHM LOW RANGE RESISTANCE SETTING:

    YELLOW WIRES #1=è #2= 0~.001 OHM
    YELLOW WIRES #1=è #3= 0~.001 OHM
    YELLOW WIRES #2=è #3= 0~.001 OHM

    ANY/ALL YELLOW WIRES TO GROUND BOLT SHOULD BE “OPEN”,, NO GROUNDS…




    >>> RECONNECT THE EXTENSION ON WIRE HARNESS TOOL TO THE MAGNETO WIRE HARNESS SYSTEM CABLE and KEEP THE OTHER END CONNECTED TO THE MAGNETO COVER PLUG

    >>> SET OHM METER TO 200VAC VOLTAGE RANGE

    >>> START ENGINE ON THE HOSE

    OUTPUT FROM YELLOW WIRES (MAGNETO COILS) ARE AS FOLLOWS:

    YELLOW WIRES #1=>#2=38.2 VAC
    YELLOW WIRES #1=>#3=39.2 VAC
    YELLOW WIRES #2=>#3=37.2 VAC

    (OR APPROXIMENTLY SAME VOLTAGES)



    Run your ski at 3000 rpm with a digital voltmeter set to the AC scale. There should be no more than 1/2 volt AC with the ski running. If there is more than 1/2 volt, the rectifier is bad

    One reason you can't get it fixed, is because you spelled problem wrong twice...

    Do a search, type in rectifier, there is a good thread with pics regarding troubleshooting.
