First 785 I ever seen sold in Australia. I may have to go up there....10 hour drive doesn't excite me but it's tempting...

I just got off the phone with this guy. It's quite tempting. It is definitely 2000, this guy is a dealer who knows polaris well. I'm told it has a 12 vane SS, and it's tuned for racing with about 60 hours clocked up. It was used in 3 races. My concern is that if this guy primarily deals in wrecked skis and spares, surely the parts would be worth more than the whole in this case. Makes me suspicious...

Sounds sweet. I'd like a 12 vein on my ski. Maybe too hard to part out n sell if australia only has like 15 of them there.

Yeah mechanics up here charge outrageous prices to work on skis. 95/hr...And there's NO polaris jet ski mechanics around anywhere and the seapoo mechs won't touch a polaris.
Maybe I could open a polaris shop? Theres plenty of places to get stuff done...ie..porting,boring,cranks,ete.. but noone to wrench!. Kinda a oxy-moron routine going on there wouldn't ya say?

Just got off the phone again. Comp test will be done first thing tomorrow. 12 vane pump in good cond, triples good cond, some minor scratches on the hull. MFD not working Ė what a surprise that is! 2000 model with the updated CDI. The allure of being one of a very few guys in oz with a 785 is compelling. I may never run into another one on the water!
Hey bow, you own one tell me what is it like on various conditions? Glass, chop, ocean? It is a 2 seater for 1 person only is that correct? My understanding is that the 785 is like being fired out of a cannon. What top speed would you expect out of this model?
