    gaskets

    what place would you guys suggest too get gaskets for my carbs. parts plus? babbets? any where else? and if there are diffrent kinds what kind should i get? carbs are stock.. and what kind of sealent is best im not sure what too use..

    I started cutting my own, and I use lithium grease on them.

    hmm.. i would have no clue how too cut them...and wouldnt want to screw anything up

    best price i found so far is 6.90 or so on babbits

    You can get gasket material from local autoparts. Place your old gasket on it and trace it out.

    I also use a spent 270 caliber rifle cartridge to punch out the holes where the bolt holes are.

    Take one one your old gaskets in and they can match up the same thickness.

    That's what I'm going to do from now on. I got a punch tool like the one pictured below to knock out the bolt holes. I'm going grind a piece of 1 1/4" iron pipe nipple to punch out the center hole for the carb throat.

    One other thing I did was to trace carb gasket onto 3/32" think aluminum stock. Then I cut it out and use that as a template for all gaskets rather than tracing from old gaskets each time.
