    Fuel / water seperator

    Does it make any difference where the fuel fiter is placed ? Before or after the seperator. Ive set mine up after the sep.,then noticed in book they show fuel filter first 94 slt750

    my separator has a screen in it as well. I have my filter after the separator,

    I put mine between the seperator and the fuel pump

    If there is water in the fuel, you want it to stay in the fuel:water separator. You don't want water also in the fuel filter.

    My suggestion is to put water separator first in line from the fuel tank, then the fuel filter (if one is not combined with the separator), then the fuel pump.

    Actually it wouldn't hurt to add another before the seperator and selector as long as their non restrictive.

    Always place the external filter before the petcock.

    The petcock has a small orifice, and any dirt/debris inside the fuel may collect and restrict fuel flow. Then you're in deep do-do.

    The WS will filter out any dirt that gets past the first filter, or debris coming from the petcock seal or old hoses.

    Then final line of defense is the fuel filters inside the carbs.
