Stock Intake Grate Removal
Finally received my Worx intake grate today and trying to take stock grate off..got all bolts off and now tryin to get stock grate off but so much silicone inside where you cant get a chisel into without damaging hull....Thought about heating it up?
What is the best solution to get stock grate off? (without damage)

Carefully use an exacto knife to cut back the silicone along the sides of the grate. Use the grate itself as a backstop/guide for the blade so you don't mess up the hull's gel coat. Don't go too deep. Take your time. Once you have all the edges cleared and only the bottom is holding it to the hull put a small 24" pry bar and some wood shims in beween the two ribs of the grate and tweak the grate sideways to break the seal. Worked for me.

What Water Pig said ... use a plastic blade to work it in there while pulling on it. Be careful just doing chin ups on it ... believe it or not, silicone on a flat surface like that has tremendous holding power and can and occasionally will pull the gelcoat right off the fiberglass. Not kidding ... be careful, use plastic body filler applicators, stuff like that and work it, wiggle it.
