    Help with 250x motor build

Hi guys I'm new to the forum and have been reading alot of the information in your post and can use more of your knowledge.Last year I bought a 2007 Ultra 250x on Ebay that#4 Piston was bad ,well to make a long story short the engine between the head and oil pan was destroyed.I'm a Recreational rider and ready to build this engine ,the ski already has the R&D Supercharger Stage 1 engine kit on it.I want to build it to run 93 octane gas.My question is what pistons, cams, etc should I use and not risk detonation? I was looking at the different cam specs that Skip had posted and the only difference between the 2009 260x and the 15f cams is the lift . I have a chance to get some 2005 15f cams cheaper than new 260x cams, would they work better than the oem 2007 cams for this Pump gas engine build? THANKS GUY'S ALL YOUR INPUT WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL.

You can not use the 2005 cam in anything 2007 and up. They changed the cam gear profile.

Your best to buy all your replacement items for a 2009. That way you get the better pistons and so on.

Your 07 ECU will work with the 09 pistons and you can mechanically advance the timing to get a really good pump gas running craft.

I have a set of used 07 rods and 3 09 piston if you need them. The 4th 09 piston hit the ground and broke a piece of the skirt off.
