98 gp800 impeller selection for max speed
im new here so if this post is in the wrong section i apologize. my 98 gp800 sucked up a pair of freakin pliers and now it only does 40mph i researched the ski and found i have a 144mm housing i was planning on upgrading to a 155mm like my gp1200has, but what impeller would i use with the larger housing a 14/20 swirl a 13/19 slim line a 16/23 swirl. id like to get the most top end mph out of her. other then an r&d ride plate she is 100% stock. im also considering a r&d top loader intake. any suggestions, idea's input would be greatly appreciated. also ill buy your grate if you have one!

question????Do you feel your 800 can use the bigger pump effectively?
That is alot of load for a twin,ESPECIALLY at holeshot...
IMT, a twin wont repond well to this change .. I'd stay with the 144 and go with a XO or XJ...

I think he is correct its not worth the extras $$$ i have a stock vein section from a 04 1300 that I think would work just fine (would have to do a little research) also do the ppk (pump plug kit) and a r&d 800 grate and get that plate modded! My friends 800r got 3.1 mph from a modded plate!!!!!!!!!! That a lot of speed for not much $$$$

I used to have a 99 gp800 the best mod I ever did was put a riva intake grate and a solas concord 14/18 pitched to a 14/19 and set back by impros. Impros website has a description of the gains in the "application specific mods area in the impeller section. There is a "no bull" noticible increase in acceleration and no cavitation like the original impeller, and hooked up on chop was unbelievable compared to stock. Gained a solid 1.5 mph...Ran just under 60 gps. Go with riva limited rideplate also, I don't know if there is a difference between the riva and r&d plate. Get an intake grate for sure....

the top loader's will slow you down up top... its best for chop ,not max mph.... go with the R&D or RIVA 2 bar grate's with out the loader.

I think you mean it always ends up in me pulling your Ski with a rope not me pulling your rope!!
Thats just what your ski needs a nice TuRD to make it twice as fast
