    AutoMeter Pro-Comp *Need Help*

I just got an 08 RXP with open loop and I want to install this gauge to monitor the engine's temperature. Is an AutoMeter Pro-Comp 2 5/8 Mechanical Water Temp with sender and a 1/2" NPT fitting. Where would I be able to tap into to get a reading? Is it possible to use this gauge?

Yeh that gauge will work but you need to get an adaptor so that you can put it on the line coming out of the engine, in most cases this will be the one coming out of the cylinder head.

You wnat to get your temps up to 160-170 really. Its also important that your oil is hot enough.

In all honesty I would just buy the riva thermostat and check how thye cooling lines rtun with ther kit and run yours the same its the easyest and most reliable way to run open loop. R88

Im not sure where you could get and adaptor look on the net for a 35mm adaptor with 1/2npt boss.

The factory engin temp sensor is the one on the cylider head right before the water exits, by the big hose in snomans pic.

You cannot remove this sensor as the ECU needs it to read engine temp and asjust fueling. R88

You could tap the head next to where the OEM water temp is.
