    SpeedFreeks RearAir Guzzler tested

so i had a chance to install and test out SpeedFreeks (erik's) rear air guzzler today with some great results.

ill start off by saying the install was about as easy as it comes 2 bolts to remove, put his molded piece where the stock baffle was (only goes on one way), 2 push locks to put on , and of course the hose clamps. thats about it!! i already have the fizzle intake w/ SCer adapter so it was easy to install the air guzzler (leave it in) and just swap back and forth to do my tests.

i'm well aware i'm in desperate need of a repitch and thats in the works.....

    my first test was:
    my prop 12.5/22
    83mm ring
    air temp 49
    water 55
    afr @ WOT 12.4-12.6
    11.1psi boost
with the fizzle intake i was at 8160-8180 @ about 3/4 throttle
    REAR AIR GUZZLER 8160-8180 @ 1/2 throttle.
    78.3mph

IMO the rear air guzzler had an INSTANT, much crisper throttle response. not to mention a pretty cool supercharger whine/whistle you could DEFINITELY hear!!

    test 2
erik had sent me a 12.5/22.5 prop as we anticipated a need for some pitch... but we now realize we're going to need more then we first had thought.
    83mm ring
    air 52
    water 55
afr @ WOT in the area of 11.5
    10.8psi boost
fizzle intake had me at 8160-8180 around 7/8's throttle
REAR AIR GUZZLER all over the limiter 8180+rpm just over 1/2 throttle
    79.3mph

    test 3
at this point i knew i wasn't going to be able to get off the limiter with the parts i was working with this day so i tossed in the 81mm ring in hopes to choke it down as much as possible which it did a decent job of. i left the REAR AIR GUZZLER ON and didn't bother to test it with the fizzle, all the same conditions as test 2, just changed to the 81mm ring.
8160-8180rpm just about a pinky width to full throttle (probably 90%) and was able to get 80.9mph...... yup finally get to join the 80mph club, and still have some left in it.

in the pictures... #1 wrench is on 1 of the bolts you remove the other is straight above it already removed. #2 is the stock baffle removed #3 is the molded piece installed, pushing one lock in, the other lock goes on the opposite side... i figured everyone can visualize the hose and clamps..

next on the list is more pitch and more testing!! results will follow.

dump question but do u have to run open loop cooling to install this? Looked on Eriks site and it looks like the guzzler sits right where the antifreeze overflow container goes????

    Looks like an awesome kit!!!

sure don't!! it sits right behind the overflow bottle. you remove the stock baffle, if its bone stock it will have a black hose still attached to it. take the seat off, look between the grab handle and locking pin for the seat, that's where you'll be getting air from

Im buying one! I'm also running the fizzle 4" front air intake and just got a C kit S/C so I'm hoping this rear air would really make it fly.

Just a note here for those with 215 RXP's... the components in pictures 1 & 2 posted above don't exist on this model. On the 215's there are two plastic push pins on the inside of the cowling that hold the duct on, that will need to be removed for installation of this kit.

Is that intake good in choppy water or when the boat jump?? water won't go inside ?

What is the difference between this one and riva rear intake?
