    Cleaning up rub rail?

Went to put the rub rails back on the sides of the ski today and realised how battered they look against the new paint job! Has anyone tried sanding the black plastic to get them smooth? I wondered if rubbing with, maybe, 800 then 1200 etc. all the way to rubbing compound would work. I don't want to start then find they look worse than before. I know some plastics are sandable and some aren't. Any thoughts? Cheers, Dave.

Dave, not sure what the rub rails are like, but maybe the old heatgun trick will help them?

Yeah, I'll give that a try. Hadn't thought about that. Thank's for the suggestion, and the comments about the ski!

    Good luck with it Dave.

Just don't do like I did the first time, too hot too fast.
