    Hook-Up in Ocean (High Speed)

    Question:

We tested our ski yesterday and are pulling go No's but in the Ocean we are finding it hard to keep the ski hooked up!. We keep the Trim right down to the bottom as this keeps the ski hooked up better. If we attempt to trim up the nose then the whole ski jumps out of the water and it is impossible to accelerate. Fast or slow.

Where we test the Ocean is reasonably flat but at high speed (60mph) the ski is in and out of the water every few seconds.

For this reason we dont run a pump wedge! I want some input if we could use the pump extension rod without the pump wedge and force the nose of the ski down to help hook-up in the Ocean.

    Any thoughts?

what opas block offs/intake grate do you have? Riva grate and RE blockoffs made a BIG difference on mine. Granted I am not in the ocean but Lake Michigan can be rough. I am thinking if you trim it down that far it would kill the top speed anyway.

We are running the Riva OPAS and RIVA grate!

I know if the nose is down it will loose speed but we are loosing speed by having the nos etoo high.

Im not sure if my idea is correct but need some input.

Riva Opas Pro or standard blockoffs? IF they are standard ones, it will hurt you in the chop for sure. RE blockoffs are necessary for RXP in my opinion.
