Once you get a new key you will need to take the ski and the key to the dealer and have them program the key to the ski...And to answer your question,No,The white key will NOT self program. It is the learner key and will limit the skis performance,RPMs and Speed..

sorry to open up an older thread, Does this mean I can't take my Learner key in For my 06 GTX and get them to program it as the "go fast key". I asked them if they would do it, the dealer said no, but if I wrapped the regular yellow DESS Foam float to it from my RXP and removed the white learner foam float I wonder if they would be able to do it?

I do believe Ive heard of other reprogramming the learner key to be a "normal" key.

Yes, the learner key can be re-programed. Just some dealers wont do it.

Im going to try that, I think Seadoo just does not want the liability in case something goes wrong in the future. I think disguising it might work with the yellow rxp foam float. Ill give it a try. Only thing I'm think is will they be able to know its a learner key when they plug it into the computer?

    just "paint it yellow"

I won't even program a learner key as a standard key, at least while it still says "learner" on it. People have expectations, bypass that and you open yourself up to a liability problem.

No way to tell if it's programmed for normal or learner..you depend on the color of the float. of course you can program a standard as a learner and then watch the shop guys tear their hair out trying to figure out what's up.
