    Anyone ridden the Suwannee River?

It's a long river, & I'm interested to know what parts would be fun to check out. Are there any areas to avoid that have no-wake zones, aren't passable by PWC or don't allow motorized vessels? Twisties would be great, but anything rideable, unrestricted & scenic will do. I'm getting tired of riding the same spots & need some new black water to explore.

Rode up there a few years ago. My wife and I were riding with a PWC group from Tampa Bay area. Here is a link for you. I helped pull this lady out of the water. The article is not exactly right, but is close enough. You have to watch out for sandbars, too. The water is dark like on the SJs and its hard to tell how shallow you are.

Oh yeah. Some idle zones but not too bad. A couple springs to check out. No speed limit when I was up there. We stayed a Yellow Jacket campground. Stayed in a cabin think it was like 100 bucks a night. They had a nice heated full pool, too.

If you want to do this ride,do it during the winter(the sturgeon go out into the gulf to spawn during the colder months)....

Thanks for the heads up guys. The town of Suwanne is pretty far upriver...how far up do they travel? I'm thinking I'll wait till fall to do the ride now.

Great thread. I was actually researching this over the weekend. Watching Ax Men and how nice that river looks I was thinking about a ride up there myself. I will definately keep an eye on this.
