03 gp800r not running right
well it was liek 65 yesterday so my cousin and i decided to take our new purchases to the water. make a long story short, ski barely accelerates out of the hole , and when it finally gets out to plane wont go past 42 mph according to cousins ski cause my speedo is being weird. horrible throttle response, low idle in water, also lots of smoke in the engine bay, but it does squirt water out the hole. so where should i begin? ive never worked on a yami, more of a sea doo guy, but am mechanically inclined.

Start with compression test , next take carbs out and rebuild, removed all fuel to make sure no water. Two strokes smoke is your friend so that's good oil pump is working. You need to give us specifics so that we can help you.

I know nothing about 800's, but assuming they have PV's, I would check that too.

sounds like you have an exhaust leak,A leak in engine bay starves engine for air.It runs like choke is on,start it up with seat off and see where the smoke is coming from.fix that change the plugs and try it then.JMHO>Marvin
