Thumbs up Jet size for APE exhaust?(rotax 787cc)

Anyone know if its necessary to change out the stock jets when a APE exhaust is installed. Its on a 1996 XP.How would I know if there to small? Is it also that the high speed needle is set at 0 turns fron the seated position?

    Welcome to GH!

Nobody here has used the APE pipe, as it doesn't offer any gains over stock. So no one would know jetting either. Sorry. And yes, the high speed screws are at 0 turns out, (leanest) from the factory.

good pipe better for stock engine (fuel pump) and than stock pipe-----nice banana yellow ------
100 -150 rpm over stock, 6900-7000 rpm tops
but extreme torque low, Will pull 17/25 -17/26 prop no problem. Makes good low rpm pipe. X-4 with this pipe and F/As with stock 96XP prop,88/85 nozzles will run 60-61 mph all day long
i don't want burn my motor!my setting carb is
    142 main
    75 jet
    high screw 1 turn!
    low screw 1 1/4
but i just need Jet size than recommand APE

A buddy ran one on his Stock 98 SPX it turned 6950 all day long even in the middle of summer. 61 mph. We allways thought it would a good pipe for 96-97 GTX. Plus grind of the APE paint it black and it looks STOCK.

    Cool

well I've work with one and if your smart-throw that dame thing out
with a stock pipe your motor should be turning 6860
try to fine a spec 1 factory pipe you can use that with stock exh. manifold OR install spec.2 pipe

you can try playing with stock pipe by adj. water regulator you.ll most likely burn thu stinger hose one or twice but it's not bad

    later cd

Have you ever heard of a plug chop? This determines your fuel mixture. Anytime a pipe is installed, or flame arrestors, this should be done to verify correct fuel mixture. Getting a jet size doesn't confirm anything, a plug chop still has to be done.

Use the search and find it.

Okay i got instructions. ? If anyone want use ape pipe 800..
    142 main jet
    1 turn screw hs
    75 pilot
    1 .5 low screw

Keep waterbox rave valve and plug the hose to mid and stinger .... install 150 or 170) mid pipe 150 stinger
    Very low rpm stronger torque
High rpm you will get dry pipe for great hp and rpm
    Hit 7100 rpm with 17/22
For me the A.P.E pipe is better than rossier
    Great pipe rec
