    FZ/FX Nano hull strength? Cracking?

I am debating about a new ski and looking at FZR/S or FX SHO ... but have read a bit about hull and tunnel cracking in the past. Did a search again and re-read the old posts and wanted to bring it up for a refresh. How many people have cracks in their Nano hulls? It sounds like the motors are quite good, but how durable are the hulls? Do both hulls need the tunnel reinforced at a minimum? I am just wondering how sturdy the hulls are and what is needed to make them as close to 'bullet proof' as possible.

My FZR's pump tunnel was reinforced straight from the factory. I believe the SHO is naked from the factory...I believe.

I have seen no problems through our dealership or on my skis personally. We did however almost split our vx/sho conversion down the middle at the tunnel area. The vx isn't nanoexcel though.

No problem here on '08 SHO. Put in Coco's tunnel reinforcement around July '09 just as insurance.

Look in JD1's thread. He posted a pic of the factory reinforcement.

Should be bullet proof with the reinforcement. I've done them on 3 SHO's & don't want to do any more.

I think some of the people who had issues with the FZ's had removed the brace on the pump. It's a different design than the SHO & previous Yami's.

No problems so far with my 09 FZS...I don't beat the piss out of my rig, but i don't ride it like a girl either...so far i'm still floating. As the above thread mentioned check the pic from the factory.

Is there a build thread for this? How did it do before it cracked?

No I am way to lazy for pics and a build threadIt did well for what it was. Handled like shit but it was a completely stock hull with stock sponsons. Honestly it accelerated and ran pretty much like a stock fzr just with worse handling and no hookup. There was definately much more potential there and I do think it would be fun to build a closed course boat out of this platform. It ran 71gps with a stock sho motor with only intake upgrade and freeflow/intake&exhaust. Unfortunately on the 4-5 hour of operation it tried to send the driveshaft through my backside.
