    welcome too the hulk!

you came too the right place

you should do a compression test.. and get some more info.. if the drive shaft is the only thing that's bad then it would be a great deal.. make sure you look at the prop and stator vanes as well you might have too replace some bearings but from what i read its not a hard job and not to expensive!

    Welcome to the Hulk Jag.

    I want to first say, they didn't make a 750 in 1996. It was a 780.

    There was a 750 in 1993-1995

Please verify what it is you're looking into getting.

My guess is for $200, there's more wrong with it than just a drive shaft.

Before you do anything, find out if the motor is damaged.

Do a compression test. If the numbers look good (120 psi is normal, give or take. but you're more looking for consistantcy. No more than 10% difference between any of the 3 cyls)

Pour a little premixed oil/gas down the carbs and see if she'll start. You can run it without water for around 10 secs, don't run any longer than that or damage will occur.

WARNING: it's happened before, that the engine will run away, and rev without ever giving it throttle. What you want to do is flood the engine out with a choke if the kill switch doesn't work.

like ryan said check comp. and check splins, and check the bearings.

    where are you located?

i would also look under the hull for major cracks or holes.. they can be fixed but really bad ones you might just want to consider another pwc

    Welcome

If there has been any moisture sitting inside the engine, then rust may have happened. Any rust inside the engine means a complete rebuild including the crank itself.

If the machine has been taken apart and left sitting, there are lots of potential problems. More info and photos would help us help you.

How much mechanical work are you willing to get into with this project?

Boy thanks for all the info.

It is my nieghbors ski he started it one day for a couple seconds when I was there so it runs. He got it from a faimly member and he dont want to fool with it so he said I could have it for 200 the inside is clean the hull looks good but is faded the only thing I saw was the display didnt work but we didnt know much about it. I guessed on the year and size from what i remembered just to post last nights. he has a bucket with the parts in them nso I am sure some rust has set in on some parts but the inside of the hull is dry.

I am located in Jennings Louisiana

I will try to post some pics
