How is this different that giving it any gas with a stock or other aftermarket ECU?
I've given my ski gas numerous occasions with no issue.

Gordon, i don't think this has anything to do with what type of ECU you run.

I think what you are saying is if you rev your engine with the ski out of the water you risk breaking your SC shaft.

I can say that I've revved my engine out of water and never had a problem. I've revved it quite high too. I haven't heard of anyone else breaking a supercharger shaft like this but I might think twice before revving it like that again

ok well I just broke down and bought the RIVA shaft. I've been putting it off so long. Had about 20 hours on the stock shaft with the B1 wheel.

i was not using the oem s.c. shaft.
i posted this to make others aware of a problem when revving the motor when the ski is not in the water.

At the World Finals during tech inspection, the inspector said, "Okay Turn your boat on". I turned it on. He said , "Okay REV it UP". I promptly turned it off and told him to go fly a kite. I told him that his is not some TWO-STROKE BEATER!!

He then gave me a sticker for one of the World Finals sponsors and said that I have to put it on my boat. I told him to shove it up his ass (in my mind)

Gordon, that blows. How hard did you rev it? And how do you know when you have broken your shaft?

i knew there was a problem when i took it out and it would only go up too 5500 rpms. and the time before that it was up to 8300 rpms. you would first think a s.c. hose came off. but, if that wasvnot the problem you would look at the s.c. whell and it is just sitting in there.
