rebuilding carbs have question on center carb fuel inlet

when i removed the carb ass. i looked down the nipple where the fuel line coming from the sending unit attaches to the center carb and noticed what looked like mud.. for lack of a better description i cleaned the every passage way and soaked the whole assembly in a carb chem bath but still do not have non restricted flow threw that passageway is there a check ball in there bc this passage way branches off and allso feeds the two outside diaphram pumps and the flow going that way is great. thank you

I'll let one of the domestic guys answer that one for sure, but pretty sure all return lines should have a restrictor of some sort.

That's what creates the fuel pressure.

Now a restriction BEFORE the carbs is a problem.....

Yes that is the fuel return hose fitting. And yes it should have a restricter ( I'm not sure what size restiction ) As xlint stated, the restiction will maintain fuel pressure
