if you gutted the stock air box, why not just throw on a open filter r&d kit?

i was refering to the r&d intake kit. it is not much more than the r&d filter that would be used in the oem airbox.

Don't you guys worry, a new free flow intake has already been planned and designed, we just wanted to do 1 thing at a time to see the results of each.

Picked up 1mph and complete consistency with the new intercooler.
(the old one would heat soak and you could never get the same result without letting it sit and cool off for a while)

And Danny, please voice your opinions, keeping quiet doesnt do anybody any good. I know what your thinking after reading a post in the Seadont forums about your flow testing on the smaller type 20 intercooler that is only rated at 450cfm. Well the type 19 intercooler is rated at 700cfm and made an obvious difference with the setup this ski is running. I understand that you do not like the barrel type intercoolers to begin with and I fully understand why, but in this case it was still far better than what he had and until somebody does some flow testing or enough mods to max it out nobody will really know how good or bad it really is.

I wanted to do a type 14 but without pulling the motor out to moch up everything that would have been even less fun than this one!

The setup I built is 3" all the way from the top to the throttle body which is just barely under 3" itself. No back and forth from 2.5" to 3" to 2.5" to 3" and such. This ski will hit a solid 80mph before the end of next week!
