    2001 1200gpr fuel guage

My cluster has water in it and I was wondering if i could put an aftermarket fuel guage and tach instead of replacing with another factory cluster.

I run an aftermarket Tach all the time, the oem is useless I have seen people glue them over the cluster. I have not seen any aftermarket Fuel gauges though. Clusters are pretty cheap these days see if you can find one.

I also have never seen a after market fuel guage. I run a tiny tach that is alsmot 6 years old and still runs perfect since the cluster tach is worthless.

You should be able to make an autometer gauge work...the problem is, the GPR fuel sender is 0-775 ohms, and the closest autometer gauge is 0-280...You'd have to add a resistor in parallel to drop the resistance...about 450 ohms should work.
