    installing cylinder

    what is the best way to install the cylinder on ym sltx.. everything is set but there is know way i can copress the rings enough too get the cylinder on.. even with my buddy helping

    make sure you have the rings lined up with the pins on the pistons and squeeze them with your fingers

    ok so they are suppose too sta long enough too put the cylinder on the piston

    I always use my hands, even done it by myself a few times, there is a tool available, not sure who has them.

    if that doesnt work for ya , but thats what i used and my cly to piston clearence was in the 5s

    i have hurd of people useing hose clamps ,

    make sure after you install the cylinder you line up the exhaust manifold with bolts then tighten the base cylinder nuts down ,

    that just makes sure you have a proper seal on the exhaust manifold before you tighten it down ,

    its just a tech tip so that you dont have a leaking exhaust gasket , either leaking water out of the hull or leaking exhaust

    ok the hose clamp worked.. now the next ?? whats the trick too line up the exaust mani holes too the cylinder.. we cant get the bolt to line up..

    Are the other exh bolts loose or tight?

    i figured it out... took the gasket out and aligned it better and will finish it up tomarrow

    leave the cylinder loose until you get the manifold snugged up
